Happiness. That essential, intangible quality we seek in every aspect of our lives. Workplace happiness is incredibly important to one’s overall happiness and quality of life. As such, why not find out what are the best countries in the world to work in? Researchers sought out to do just that, and the results might surprise you.

The findings were based off of country-wide statistics to find average and legal data on wages, national holidays, sick leave compensation, working hours and lastly the world happiness index as reported by the United Nations. As such, this research is based off of quantitative data, meaning the measurable qualities of life. As such, this does not necessarily translate to subjective or qualitative quality of life.

According to this research, the best countries in the world to work in are:
  1. Denmark (7.5/10 on the happiness scale)
  2. Switzerland (7.5/10 on the happiness scale)
  3. Canada (7.4/10 on the happiness scale)
  4. New Zealand (7.3/10 on the happiness scale)
  5. Australia (7.3/10 on the happiness scale)
  6. United States (7.1/10 on the happiness scale)
  7. Germany (6.9/10 on the happiness scale)
  8. Mexico (6.7/10 on the happiness scale)
  9. United Kingdom (6.7/10 on the happiness scale)
  10. Unite Arab Emirates (6.7/10 on the happiness scale)
  11. Colombia (6.4/10 on the happiness scale)
  12. France (6.4/10 on the happiness scale)
  13. Malaysia (6.0/10 on the happiness scale)
  14. Italy (5.9/10 on the happiness scale)
