Democratic Republic of Congo

Forming part of the Central African region, the Democratic Republic of Congo is a beautiful and friendly country with so much diversity and culture. Also known as the DR Congo, this country is neighbours with Cabinda, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Angola and the Central African Republic. Congo is the second biggest country in Africa (11th world-wide) and is very much a Francophone country. The DR Congo is a nation economically and regionally connected with Southern Africa as a member of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

With high levels of rainfall and high occurrence of thunderstorms world-wide, the DR Congo is largely seen as the richest country in the world regarding natural resources due to its untapped deposits of raw minerals (an estimated value of US$ 24 trillion).The DRC exceeds 30% of the world’s diamond reserves and 70% of the world’s Cotton.
