Our client, an international mining house is seeking a HR Specialist who will be a part of the companies team in Limpopo.


 


Responsibilities:


  • Assist with expat placement, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
  • Coordinate and manage the work visa and permit process for expatriate employees.
  • Coordinate the relocation process for expats, including arranging temporary/permanent accommodations, shipping of household goods, and orientation sessions.
  • Coordinate expat benefits packages, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
  • Provide guidance and support to expats in adjusting to the new living and working environment.
  • Coordinate and translate HQ reports and requirements between departments and management.
  • Serve as a liaison between HR departments in HQ and South Africa and provide support as needed.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including advising employees and management on HR policies and procedures in accordance with HQ standards and in compliance to South African laws and regulations.
  • Provide interpretation and translation services to employees, management, and shareholders.
  • Collaborate with departmental heads and managers during recruitment and selection processes.
  • Manage and update employee records, including documentation, HR files, and records databases for HQ reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports for management.
  • Conduct research and document HR practices, policies, and procedures to help align practices with legal requirements and standard HR best practices in accordance with China HQ and South African laws and regulations.
  • Assist with HR projects, such as benefits administration, performance management, and HR compliance.
  • Assist with annual HR audits and other compliance-related activities.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to implement strategic HR initiatives and program.
  • Enforce the Company’s ‘Code of Conduct’.
  • Advise management in training required by employees.
  • Create high performing team and conductive employee relations climate.
  • Ensure that safety regulations are adhered to by employees working with and under own direct supervision.
  • Do risk assessments and communicate with employees thereafter.
  • Manage labour stability.
  • Manage performance against set targets and competencies.
  • Work standby, overtime and shifts as needed.
  • Ensure overtime and shift compliance in line with the BCEA.
  • Work within budget and avoid material wasting.
  • Take cognisance of and adhere to Company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Manage and report on non-compliance issues to manager.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system with the various teams and departments.
  • Strong commitment to service and quality standards as well as stakeholder Satisfaction.
  • Any other responsibility that can be reasonably expected in this role / function.


 


Requirements: Qualification and Skill


  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Human Resources Specialist or similar in the Mining Industry.
  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labour Relations, or equivalent.
  • Experience coordinating work visas, permits, and relocation.
  • Experience working in a multinational company.
  • Knowledge of HR practices and policies, including recruitment, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of Chinese & South African employment law, regulations, and policies.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in both English & Mandarin.
  • Valid South African driver’s license or willingness to obtain a South African driver’s license.
  • Medically fit to work on an Underground Mine.
