M&A Associate (Mergers / Acquisitions / Advisory / Deals) – Johannesburg, South Africa

Job Description:

A client of ours is recruiting an additional associate into its investment banking team based in Johannesburg.

Responsibilities shall include:

• Preparing pitches and presentations for origination and deal implementation activities
• Creating and maintain financial models and perform valuations for M&A and capital raising transactions.
• Preparing selling documents for transactions – information memos and teasers
• Supporting the deal due diligence process including managing the data room and bidder information requests
• Assisting in the preparation of other transaction documents and coordinating with other advisors where required
• Engaging with clients and potential bidders and investors
• Preparing KYC and background checks prior to client onboarding
• Managing and training junior team members and overseeing their work

Qualifications required:

• Degree level qualifications in Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting, Investments or similar
• Minimum matric mathematics: 80%; Minimum matric English: 70%; or equivalent A-levels
• 3-5 Years of experience in a corporate finance / transaction advisory / private equity space

Some experience one or more of the following areas is very helpful:

• Financial institutions
• Deal making and deal structuring.
