Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Plant Manager to oversee our mineral processing plant in a French-speaking country. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in mineral processing or engineering environments at the plant management level and be fluent in French. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the plant, leading a team of professionals, and driving continuous improvement in processes and productivity.


  • Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, and quality control.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve production targets and optimize plant performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and promote a culture of safety within the plant.
  • Manage and mentor plant staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and logistics, to ensure seamless plant operations.
  • Prepare and manage the plant's budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall plant performance.
  • Ensure effective maintenance programs are in place to minimize downtime and extend the life of plant equipment.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements to maintain the plant's competitive edge.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a mineral processing or engineering environment, with at least 5 years in a plant management role.
  • Fluency in French is mandatory.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of managing and developing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of plant operations, including production processes, maintenance, and quality control.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for plant management and data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and control operational costs.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on driving efficiency and productivity.
  • Willingness to relocate and work in a French-speaking country.
