Job Description:
The purchasing director's mission is to define and implement the purchasing policy predefined by the general management while guaranteeing the optimization of costs, quality and deadlines. He/she supervises the negotiation of purchasing contracts and coordinates the supply chain and routing flows.
Responsibilities:
- Define procurement policy, ensure that procurement procedures and contract execution are monitored
- Develop a national and international procurement strategy
- Optimize purchasing and procurement processes
- Establish specifications listing all product needs
- Study and assess risks in the supply chain as a whole and identify opportunities to reduce or eliminate these risks
- Organize calls for tenders in order to select the service providers and suppliers likely to meet the specifications or orders defined
- Set up a procurement plan with selected suppliers
- Check production orders, expense reports and demand forecasts
- Manage and optimize product flows and stocks
- Ensure regular checks on product profitability, turnover rates and margin
- Set up key indicators and purchasing dashboards to measure the performance of the actions carried out: stock turnover rate, delivery times, etc.
- Develop and monitor purchasing budgets dedicated to each category manager (turnover, margin, stocks, number of days of stock…)
- Represent your company at trade shows, conferences, forums
- Be up to date with market trends and news + Competitive intelligence
- Study the public sale price takin into account the margin rates set by the general management
- Intervene and ensure that suppliers negotiate with suppliers the best payment terms and conditions, delivery details and arbitrate any disputes that adhere to applicable laws
- Comply with and keep up to date with applicable laws, regulations, standards and best practices
- Propose the articles to put on the flyers, catalog leaflets … and ensure the success of the campaigns in collaboration with marketing
- Ensure communication and liaison with all the departments involved in order to succeed and promote the integration of purchasing projects within the company
- Define the training and promotion program for buyers in connection with the direction of human resources
- Participate in there-routing of the purchasing team
- Ensure the development of the team's skills as part of career development
- Regulate and manage the interpersonal relationships of the team to establish a good quality of life in the department

Requirements: Skills
- 5+ years experience in purchasing within the furniture industry
